Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 August 2026
This policy explains what information ControlPoint Advisory ("we", "us") collects when you use controlpointadvisory.org, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. It applies to this website and its subdomains.
Information you give us
- Enquiries and consultation requests — your name, email address, phone number, organisation, and whatever you tell us about your project.
- Newsletter and waitlist sign-ups — your email address, and your name if you provide it.
- Account details — if you are given access to an administrative area, your email address and an encrypted form of your password.
We use this information to reply to you, to deliver the service you asked about, and to send you the updates you signed up for. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we record standard technical information when you visit: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring site, device type and browser. We use it to understand which content is useful and to detect abuse.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and equivalent browser storage:
- Essential — to keep you signed in to an account area and to remember dismissed notices. The site does not work properly without these.
- Analytics — Google Analytics, and where enabled Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, to measure traffic and which pages lead to enquiries.
- Advertising — see the section below.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
Advertising
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- More information is available in Google's policy on how it uses information from sites that use its services.
Where your information is stored
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure and may be processed on servers outside your country. Access is limited to people who need it to do their work, and administrative access is protected by individual accounts and role-based permissions.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and consultation requests — up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Newsletter and waitlist entries — until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data — as configured in the relevant analytics service, typically 14 months.
- Client project records — for the duration of the engagement and any period required for accounting or legal purposes.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and we act on it immediately.
- Access — ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you.
- Correction and deletion — ask us to correct or delete your information and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
- Objection — tell us to stop using your information for marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these, email hello@controlpointadvisory.org. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Client data
Where we build or operate a system for a client, that client is responsible for the personal data held inside it and we act on their instructions. Our clients can export their data at any time, and we do not use it for any purpose other than delivering and supporting the system.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Where a school system we build holds records about pupils, that data is controlled by the school and governed by its own policies.
Security
We use encrypted connections, role-based access control, and row-level access rules on our databases. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify affected users and the relevant authority without undue delay.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be announced to subscribers by email.
